Export signed history

How a writer downloads the receipt a publisher can check. Markdown is the manuscript. The JSON file is the proof.

The person who has to check the work does not need a Click Clack account. You do. Your job is to hand them the right file.

Hand over the signed history when someone asks what AI did. Hand over Markdown when they want to read the piece. Do not treat the Markdown file as proof.

Download a signed history

1. Open the document

   Sign in to Click Clack, open the draft, and open Activity. Activity is the record, not the chat transcript: one row per contribution, including proposals you turned down.

2. Open a contribution

   Select a row. The detail names the contributor, the action, and whether Click Clack could verify the signature. That in-app verdict is Click Clack checking itself. It is useful while you write. It is not what you send a publisher.

3. Download signed history

   Use Download signed history. Save the JSON file. That is the receipt.

If a contribution is labelled unverified, treat that row as unproven. Do not send the file as if it were a passing receipt.

What the writer sees in Activity

• Suggested by <Figment> — a named collaborator proposed a change. The chip is a label, not a colour-only status.
• You accepted this. / You kept the original. — keeping your own words is unsigned. A declined proposal still stays in the history so the record is not flattering.
• Paste rows, when you have turned Record pasted text on in Settings, record only that text arrived by paste. They do not prove who authored it or whether a model was involved.

Settings → Writing → Record pasted text is off by default. When it is on, a native paste is saved with a server-held signature. Turn it on before you need those rows, not after. Pastes that happened while it was off are ordinary edits.

Give the checker to the person who will verify

The independent program is Apache-2.0. Point them at Check a receipt. They install it on their machine and run it against the JSON file. They should not have to log into Click Clack to finish that job.
